In 2009, Jean-Paul and Marie-Chantal Houde, brother and sister decided to join forces to develop a sheep’s milk and cheese enterprise for the family farm. John Paul brings his knowledge of animal husbandry and cultivation of land to the venture, while Marie-Chantal brings a passion is cheese making gained through a solid training cheese in France and years of practice in the field.
On 29 May 2010, the first born wheels of their first cheese: Zacharie Cloutier. Since then, Fromagerie Nouvelle France has won over 18 awards in various competitions, including the Best Cheese Du Quebec in 2011 and 2014 for Zacharie Cloutier.
