Friday June 1 10:00 am – 4:00 pm Tour starts at Crystal Palace
For those interested in an extra day of cheese-learning and cheese-tasting, we invite you to get out and about pastoral Prince Edward County on the Friday (June 1) before the Cheese Festival (June 2-3).
On a six-hour guided tour to nearby Black River Cheese and Fifth Town Artisan Cheese you will:
- Meet cheesemakers
- See where and how cheese is made
- Learn about history and terroir, and sample cheese, of course!
- Visit a dairy farm to see where grass turns into milk to start the process (to be confirmed)
- Enjoy lunch around a harvest table at Vicki’s Veggies
- See Prince Edward County in the comfort of a Sandbanks Vacations minivan with no more than nine passengers per tour
- Sightseeing includes a hilltop view from County Cider Company and tasting, of course!
- Tour starts and ends at Crystal Palace in Picton
- Includes a box lunch and a Festival cooler bag for your cheese purchases.
