Cheesemakers and cheese galore

The Canadian Cheese of the Year and other winners in the 2016 Canadian Cheese Awards will be in the spotlight at the sixth annual Great Canadian Cheese Festival.

Outstanding Canadian cheesemakers from coast-to-coast are represented at the Festival, offering whey more than 150 artisan cheeses for tasting and purchase at the Artisan Cheese & Fine Food Fair on Saturday and Sunday, June 4 and 5.

The Festival showcases producers who turn the pure milk of Canadian cows, goats, sheep and water buffalo into cheese, using no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives, and no modified milk ingredients.

Here's who participated with fine cheese for sampling and purchase last year. We'll update with this year's roster soon.
